Why does it often feel like Tesla is struggling?

Setting clickbaity and negatively biased coverage aside, it still often feels like Tesla's struggling. For example, Elon often talks about "survival", and we typically see a rush of deliveries at the very end of each quarter. Why is this happening to a seemingly successful company?
